On February 7, 2024, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Nangolo Mbumba on his inauguration as President of Namibia.

Xi Jinping stressed that China and Namibia enjoy profound traditional friendship, fruitful cooperation in various fields, and mutual support on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns. Xi Jinping said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-Namibia relations and stands ready to work with President Nangolo Mbumba to promote new development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Namibia and safeguard international fairness and justice as well as the common interests of developing countries.
