On November 4, 2023, President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolence to President of Nepal Ramchandra Paudel over a strong earthquake hitting Nepal.

Xi Jinping said that he was shocked to learn of the strong earthquake in Nepal's Karnali Province that has caused heavy casualties and property losses. On behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi Jinping expressed deep condolences to the victims, offered sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and the injured, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Xi Jinping emphasized that he believes that under the leadership of President Ramchandra Paudel and the Nepal’s government, people in the earthquake-stricken areas will be able to overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes at an early date. China is ready to provide the necessary disaster relief assistance for Nepal.

On the same day, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council sent a message of condolence to Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.
