Chinese Ambassador-designate H.E. Mr. Yin Chengwu Presents His Copy of Letter of Credence to Foreign Minister of Liberia

On October 5, 2023, H.E. Mr. Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador-designate to Liberia, presented his copy of letter of credence to H.E. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Foreign Minister of Liberia. Cllr. Deweh E. Gray, Deputy Foreign Minister of Liberia for Legal Affairs, and Ambassador George W. Wallace, Jr., adviser to the President of Liberia on Foreign Affairs were present.

Ambassador Yin conveyed the cordial greetings of H.E. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to H.E. Kemayah, and said that China and Liberia have profound friendship. The two peoples have helped each other in the fight against Ebola and the COVID-19, which has reflected the brotherly friendship. China highly appreciates the Liberian side's firm adherence to the One-China Policy and support for China's peaceful reunification. Ambassador Yin said that during his tenure he would actively fulfill his duties and responsibilities, and act as an envoy of sincere friendship, a bridge of effective communication, and a bond of practical cooperation between the two countries. He looked forward to working with all walks of life in Liberia to promote the China-Liberia comprehensive cooperative partnership to achieve new results.

H.E. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. welcomed Ambassador Yin’s designation and asked him to convey his sincere greetings to H.E. Wang Yi, and reiterated that Liberia firmly sticks to the One-China Policy. H.E. Kemayah appreciated China's important role in international and regional affairs and thanked Chinese Government for its long-standing invaluable support and generous assistance to the development of the country, and looked forward to carrying on the Liberia-China friendship and deepening the mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. H.E. Kemayah also expressed his commitment to facilitate and support Ambassador Yin in his duties and to jointly promote the continuous development of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Yin arrived in Liberia on September 26, 2023.
