On July 21, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Montserrado County senator Abraham Darius Dillon. The two sides exchanged views on China-Liberia relations and exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in the fields of legislature, youth capacity building, and protection of vulnerable groups.

Ambassador Ren introduced that for the past 100 years, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has united and led the people of all ethnic groups in the country to score great achievements in revolution, construction, reform and development in the new era, as well as the people-centered development philosophy and new achievements in the cause of human rights. He briefed China-Africa and China-Liberia traditional friendship and the outcomes of pragmatic cooperation in various fields, the friendly exchanges between the legislative bodies of the two countries, and the steadfast support of China's stance on multilateral human rights occasions by a large number of developing and friendly countries in Africa in recent years. Ambassador Ren expressed that China is willing to continuously promote the development of bilateral relations between China and Liberia and pragmatic cooperation in various fields including the legislative body on the basis of the principles of mutual respect, non-interference in internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit. He also appreciated Senator Dillon's efforts in promoting the protection of vulnerable groups in Liberia and the development of the cause of youth, saying that China is willing to provide assistance to Liberia within its capacity.

Senator Dillon sincerely admired China's great achievements in economic and social development and the promotion and protection of human rights, and thanked China for its long-term contribution to the development of Liberia in various fields. He said that China is an important strategic partner of Liberia, and Liberia will continue to firmly adhere to the one-China policy, learn from China's successful development experience, and continuously push for new progress in Liberia-China relations and cooperation in various fields between the two countries.

 Ambassador Ren presented Senator Dillon with "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" (three volumes in English).
