Recently, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng attended the multilateral cooperation dialogue on refugee protection in Liberia. Ms. Gillian Triggs, Assistant High Commissioner for Protection of the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugges (UNHCR) presided over the dialogue. Ambassadors or representatives of Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Côte d'Ivoire and other countries in Liberia and representatives of the World Bank attended the dialogue. 

UNHCR briefed on the progress of resettlement and repatriation of Ivorian refugees in Liberia, and thanked all parties for their support to UNHCR's work. 

Ambassador Ren shared China's position on the refugee issue and the international cooperation on refugee protection. Ambassador Ren emphasized that China firmly upholds the international multilateral system with the United Nations at its core, and is willing to work with UNHCR to jointly promote the development of international refugee protection. Ambassador Ren also exchanged views with Ms. Triggs and other parties on issues such as refugee livelihood, capacity building and development, and epidemic prevention and control.
