Friday, 6th February 2009 Monrovia, Liberia - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has cut a ribbon marking the official opening of the road in the Sinkor Old Road Community. The President commended CHICO, a Chinese road construction company, for a job well done, describing it as "a big relief to many persons in the community." The President also lauded the efforts of the Public Works Ministry for supporting the Chinese company. The Liberian leader praised the visiting CHICO Vice President Shao Zhenzhong for traveling to Liberia to inspect the work being done and offering motivation to his staff. For his part, Mr. Shao Zhenzhong thanked President Johnson Sirleaf for her encouragement and pledged his company's support toLiberia's road reconstruction program. Also present at the official opening and tour of the road were Chinese Ambassador Zhou Yuxiao and Public Works Minister Loseni Donzo. The road segment, which is 4.2 kilometers long, has been refurbished by CHICO. The refurbished stretch of road covers the Nigeria House junction, Old Road Market and Kailondo Hotel suburbs of the community. |
