2021-09-15 13:51

On September 15, 2021 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Chairperson of the Republic of Korea (ROK) of the Committee for Future Development of China-ROK Relations Lim Chae-jung in Seoul.

Wang Yi said, since China and the ROK established diplomatic ties, bilateral relations have achieved historic development, which brings intangible benefits to the two peoples. The establishment of the committee ahead of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties next year is just in time. He hopes members of the committee from both sides could communicate frankly and interact amicably. On the basis of reviewing experience in developing bilateral relations over the past three decades, members should look ahead to and chart the course for the future, and put forth forward-looking and workable proposals for the long-term development of bilateral relations that are keeping up with the times, contributing wisdom and strength to deepening the strategic cooperative partnership between China and the ROK and promoting regional and world peace and development.

Lim Chae-jung said, since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the ROK and China, the two countries have delivered remarkable progress in political, economic, and people-to-people cooperation. The ROK's people attach great importance to the development of ROK-China relations. Staying true to the original aspiration of establishing diplomatic relations, ROK's members of the committee are ready to work with Chinese members of the committee to collect ideas and make suggestions for the development of bilateral ties in the next 30 years and beyond. The committee will work on enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, deepening practical cooperation between the two countries, maintaining peace on the Korean Peninsula and the region, and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
