On November 2, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng attended the handover ceremony of humanitarian anti-epidemic supplies for refugees in Liberia held at the Chinese Embassy. Ambassador Ren donated a batch of teaching, daily necessities and anti-epidemic supplies to the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) and the Office of UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Liberia on behalf of the Chinese Embassy and the Ting Hsin Foundation. Hon. Rev, Festus R. B. Logan, Commissioner/Executive Director of the LRRRC，Ms. Roseline Okoro, country representative of  UNHCR in Liberia and Mr. Li Zhaoxin, Director of the Political Section of the Embassy attended the ceremony. 

In his speech, Ambassador Ren commended the LRRRC and UNHCR for their efforts to resettle and protect refugees in Liberia, and said that maintaining peace and stability, promoting prosperity and development, and carrying out international cooperation are the keys to solving the refugee problem. China firmly supports the peace building and economic and social development of Liberia, firmly upholds the core role of the United Nations in international affairs, and is willing to continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Liberia under the guidance of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, and provide assistance within its capacity for the resettlement and integration of refugees into society and the development of various fields in Liberia.

Commissioner Logan introduced the situation of refugees in Liberia, thanked the Chinese Embassy and the Ting Hsin Foundation for their valuable humanitarian assistance for refugees in Liberia, and hoped that China would provide assistance to the LRRRC in agriculture, human resource training and capacity building.

 Ms. Okoro thanked China for its firm stance in supporting the relevant work of the United Nations and the generous assistance to help refugees in Liberia, especially child refugees, during the Covid-19 epidemic, and expressed willingness to continue to deepen cooperation with China in multilateral fields and jointly promote the development of Liberia in various fields.
