Ambassador Zhou said: "the policy of national reconciliation has produced expected results; economic reconstruction is gaining momentum; the budget for the current fiscal year is increased by nearly 50 percent over the previous year; the lives of the people are being improved gradually and sanctions on timber and diamond exportation were lifted".

The President pointed out that no amount of pressure exerted on her government by any individual, group of people or nations would make the country to change her mind or switch from that firm decision.
The Liberian leader said she was appreciative of the countless assistance that the government of the People's Republic of China continues to give to the government and people of Liberia and she was more satisfied with the joint partnership of the Governments of the People's Republic of China and the United States of America in the expansion of the University of Liberia Fendell Campus.
