The New Chinese Ambassador Presents Letters of Credence

On September 5, 2007, the newly arrived Chinese Ambassador Mr. Zhou Yuxiao presented to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf the Letter of Credence by which President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China appointed him Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People' s Republic of China to the Republic of Liberia.

 

At the presentation, Ambassador Zhou conveyed to Madam President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf the cordial greetings from President Hu Jintao and the goodwill of the Chinese government and people to the Liberian government and people.

 

Ambassador Zhou lauded President Johnson Sirleaf for the progress made under her leadership in promoting peace, stability and national reconstruction and emphasized that his government would do its best to assist Liberia's post-war economic and social development within its ability.  He also expressed gratitude to the Liberian government for its strong commitment to the "One China policy".

 

While receiving the Letter of Credence, Madam President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf assured Ambassador Zhou that her government would give him all necessary assistance in fulfilling his mission in Liberia, expressed her thanks to China for the valuable support to Liberia in its efforts to rebuild the war-torn country and economy and reiterated her government's "One China policy".
